RONALD FREDERICK LAMBERT

Organic Chemistry - Nelson Leonard

Obituary from the Boston, MA Globe, May 12, 2002:

"Ronald Frederick Lambert died of brain cancer, at his home in Wayland, on Friday, May 10, 2002. He was the dear husband of Susan (Rodrian) Lambert and adored father of Seth William Lambert of Brooklyn, NY and Sarah Elizabeth (Lambert) Daniels and her husband Chris Daniels of Los Angeles, CA. Ron was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 16, 1939, Son of William and Esther (Silver) Lambert. He graduated from Columbia University and received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois. An inventive, creative scientist, he worked at Polaroid Corporation for 23 years and has numerous patents to his name. After leaving Polaroid in 1989, he worked as a consultant and later formed his own company ISO-NOW Corporation, assisting companies in achieving quality certification. For the three years prior to his retirement in March, 2001 he worked at Comverse Technology in Wakefield. Ron was devoted to his family foremost and to his work; he was an avid tennis player and photographer and was a model of courage during his long illness. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his brother Kenneth Dwight Lambert of Fairlawn, NJ and many caring nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law."

While Jack Berger contends that Ron was blackballed from joining ΑΧΣ, the 1983 Zeta Chapter directory lists him as having been initiated in 1963.
